Our Stories

“This is My Legacy.”

Deb Rennie has always appreciated having a hospital close to home.  She recalls, “When I had young children, we visited the hospital a lot with earaches, stomach aches, or when one of the kids needed stitches.”

Recently, Deb made the decision to extend her current giving by including Milton District Hospital Foundation in her will.  She describes this decision as part of her legacy.  “Milton is my home and my children’s home.  I think that it is important to give back to your own community.  At some point, everybody needs the hospital.”  Deb is grateful for the quality of care she received at Milton District Hospital, and she is looking forward to seeing the hospital continue to grow with the community.

Helen Vatistas, Executive Director of Milton District Hospital Foundation appreciates the contributions individuals make through bequests.  “Leaving a gift in your will is a powerful act of generosity.  Ms. Rennie’s gift has an impact on the future of our hospital because it allows us to purchase the equipment needed to provide high quality healthcare to this community for generations to come.”

If you are interested in making a bequest, please contact Deborah Bauder by email at dbauder@haltonhealthcare.com or by phone at 289-218-0715.

Thinking about taxes? Naming the Milton hospital as a beneficiary on your RRSP, RRIF or TFSA can result in big tax credits for your estate. Ask your advisor about making the Milton Hospital a beneficiary so you can leave more for your loved ones.
