Our Stories

“It makes a huge difference to the patient.”

Julie Rock is a local photographer in Milton and is active in our community.  Julie has had several experiences at Milton District Hospital including three surgeries and a few visits to the Emergency Department.    She says “Each and every time I have come to this hospital, it has been an amazing experience.”  Julie has Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and she had two mastectomies at Milton District Hospital.  She recalls:  “When I came in to have my first mastectomy, I was crying when I was walking in.  The nurse was so compassionate and caring and that made me feel a lot better.”  Dr. Aziz explained everything to me so that I knew what was happening from start to finish.  Having this information helped with my mental state when I was going into surgery.”  Julie is grateful for the care that she received at our hospital. “Every healthcare provider that I encountered, from the anesthesiologist to the surgeon was compassionate and reassuring.  That makes a huge difference to the patient.”
