Essential Equipment
FROM NEWBORN CARE TO EVERYDAY PROCEDURES, DONOR-FUNDED EQUIPMENT TOUCHES THOUSANDS OF LIVES EACH YEAR.
Behind every moment of care at Milton District Hospital is equipment that must perform every day, for every patient. This year, thanks to donor generosity, beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs across the hospital have been replaced to ensure safety, comfort, and dignity. These essential tools endure constant use. From guiding a frail patient safely into the Emergency Department, to urgently transporting someone whose condition is deteriorating, to supporting recovery after surgery — this equipment does far more than move patients. It protects them. It reassures them. It allows care teams to respond with speed and expert care in moments of greatest need. Your support ensures the foundation of care is stronger.
In our Maternal Newborn department — one of our busiest and fastest-growing areas — three new patient rooms are now being fully outfitted to meet rising birth volumes. Built during the 2017 expansion as shelled spaces, the need to equip them has become urgent as more families choose to welcome their babies close to home.
New crib and pediatric stretchers are also enhancing the safe and efficient transport of our youngest patients, ensuring that even our smallest community members receive care designed specifically for them.
Across the hospital, the Empath Recliner is already making a meaningful difference. Its thoughtful design reduces strain during transfers and adapts seamlessly across care areas, supporting both patients and clinical teams. These may be called “essential” but their impact is extraordinary. Because of you, care is safer. Comfort is greater. And every patient experience is stronger.
